Eateries within the village of Mountshannon cater for all tastes. To mention but two :-
- Au Cupan Caife (A Bistro) provides snacks as well as main course meals and liquid refreshments, their Viennese style coffee is worth calling in for.
- Noel's Restaurant provides a full range both on the A La Carte & Special menus.
BE WARNED - Portions are ENORMOUS (no-one goes away hungry).
The welcome received within both of these establishments is typically Irish in it's warmth and hospitality and is second to none.
Also within the village lively pubs provide traditional music & entertainment.
A little further afield there can be few establishments to compare with "Teach Ui Bhriain Bar & Restaurant" (The Island) located in Tuamgraney just a few miles down the road from Mountshannon. The selection of available food is wide and varied but for meat eaters the Sirloin Steak can be heartily recommended, smothered with garlic & herb butter, served with chips or potatoes and vegetables or salad, but again, be warned - servings are LARGE! It is claimed that the steak is 12oz but when it arrives it looks and (after eating it) FEELS more like 16oz of wonderfully tender and succulent steak.
If you enjoy liquer coffees then ask Nula or Sophie to make you a Bailey's coffee, a perfect end to a wonderful meal no matter what your choice of food is.
